I was impressed by the "right device - right associate" story told at a June 2012 Motorola Solutions Retail event I had the pleasure of attending. While we all know that consumer grade devices are gaining traction for a variety of operational use cases in retail enterprises, the Motorola retail enterprise story laid out in a series of more than half a dozen demos in a very appropriate retail-like space in New York City seemed very compelling.

IDC's Retail CIO Summit Europe 2012 was held on June 14th and 15th in the beautiful setting of Chantilly near Paris. The event was sponsored by Tyco Store Performance Solutions, HCL Technologies and Ingenico. The event brought together CIOs and Line of Business Executives of European retail brands of different sizes and segments, with active contributions from IDC Retail Insights analysts from Western Europe, CEMA. and US.
