In February 2012 I published a new IDC document about using social media as part of the software vendor's communications strategy with their partners and other stakeholders. Since then, between business travel, a family emergency, and a vacation, I completely fell down on following my own advice (some of which is below). So it was good to get a reminder yesterday thanks to Kem Butler, Social Media Specialist for the JD Edwards team (@Oraclejdedwards).
This week I am at the Collaborate 2012 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. It's not a typical event for a channels analyst as it is a conference hosted by several Oracle User Groups (IOUG, OAUG, and Quest), but it is an important show for the partner community as many of their customers attend and it provides a valuable opportunity for generating leads, strengthening relationships with customers, and potentially closing deals.
