Beyond the Fun and Games: A Jackpot for Developers

 My Twitter feed recently included a link to a blog article on the “Top Ten Apps.”  Curious to see what fabulous new app I might be missing, I clicked through but quickly realized all of the apps were in fact games, or game-related.  Because my experience with Angry Birds is limited to a ferocious Arctic Tern that attacked my head in Iceland, you can understand why this list initially failed to excite me.

IBM Partners see Upswing in Profitability

On September 6, the IBM Software Group held an analysts' update call to review the progress of the software business partners in the first half of the FY2011, as well as review some new PartnerWorld programs and offerings. According to IBM, the trend for business partners is UP, UP, UP across multiple areas. For example, total business partner revenue is up 14% year over year, while transactions are up 21% for general business, 33% for midmarket, 30% for the business partner led model, and 33% for system in
