The State of DoD IT Spending - in Three Charts

In a slowly recovering economy, federal government spending of all types tends to see a boost. This includes information technology budgets. Yet, for the U.S. Defense Department, growth in IT spending has been pretty tough to find in recent years.

In order to provide a quick window into the state of Fiscal Year 2016 IT spending within DoD, we have developed three graphics to help paint a picture of what's happening with the military's IT money. Much more in-depth analysis plus additional charts is available to our subscribers.

DoD spending for Fiscal Year 2016 is budgeted at $30.5 billion. But keep in mind that this is just for DoD IT systems and networks. This number does not include the embedded systems used for weapons nor systems purchased by federal intelligence agencies.
