Is cloud passé?

It is time to call it a day: the early days of cloud computing are long gone. All government IT executives understand what it is, many have tried, a few have succeeded, others have failed, the majority is in progress. This does not mean it is not relevant any more, it's just less trendy than other pillars of 3rd platform technologies, such as big data and mobile. And when things are less trendy it also means they are more mature, thus require more advanced management of deployments, vendors and so forth. An IDC survey aims to shed light on the cloud supplier landscape for governments.
